our story
We met at an NC State football tailgate in the fall of 2014. Our first date was a TKE date function and we spent the night bonding over our mutual love of the band Passion Pit and the movie Spirit. Friendship has always come first in our relationship, and we both felt we had met a lifelong friend that night.
Five years and many, many, MANY tailgates later, we had both graduated from NC State and were ready for a new adventure. JT was accepted into the intellectual property law program at the UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law in Concord, NH, and Rebecca started a new job at a state nonprofit.

In New Hampshire, our relationship grew even stronger as we
navigated this new chapter of our lives together. We made
lifelong friendships, survived the pandemic, adopted our dog
(shoutout to Radar!), and explored everything New Hampshire had
to offer — hiking, skiing, apple picking, pond hockey, and New
England IPAs!
We both challenge each other to reach our goals and be the best
people we can be, both in our relationship and as individuals.
While living in New Hampshire, Rebecca dragged JT up more than
one of the tallest mountains in the state (usually by telling
him they really weren’t that bad), and meanwhile, JT pushed
Rebecca to take on tough terrain and build her confidence on the
ski slopes.
After three incredible years in an even more incredible state,
we decided to move back to Raleigh. JT passed the bar and
Rebecca started grad school back at NC State. On December
26th, 2022, JT proposed on the summit of Heavenly Ski Resort,
and Rebecca couldn’t have pictured a more beautiful or
meaningful proposal. After almost ten years together, we are
looking forward to celebrating our love with friends and
family, and FINALLY making it official.
In the meantime, you can find us back at the NC State tailgate lots, on the side of a mountain, snuggling with Radar, or enjoying a good beer. See you in October!
